While I can’t sleep, I decided to write a text on the topic “how a psychologist can sell himself.” Spoiler: no way. I could make another course on this topic and sell it, but I will give you a New Year’s gift and share it for free. So. I have a practice that I am happy with and as many clients as I need. And I didn’t spend a single ruble on advertising my services. Not a ruble, Karl. I believe in the power of advertising, but I don’t think that a good psychologist needs it. What is needed? 1. To love people. Not to want to kiss everyone, but to respect and be able to respond with sympathy. Yes - read on. No - change your profession.2. It’s good to do your job. Yes, no - we study, we definitely undergo supervision and personal therapy. If you think that you don’t need this and you already know and can do enough - change your profession.3. If you love people and are good at what you do, then you need others to know about it. If it’s difficult to show yourself, we invest money in personal therapy, and not in advertising (it won’t help). So, to show yourself, you don’t need “selling texts,” but you personally with your love and skill. Are you a good writer? Write about what interests you and what you understand. Answer questions on psi forums, conduct demo consultations. These are specifically my methods. Many of my clients came after reading an article or demo consultation on b17, and they responded.4. Resource. We have as many clients as we have enough resources for. Advertising is powerless to change this. The resource increases with experience and as the ability to contain feelings, especially your own, increases. Psychotherapy is a delicate thing. Our potential clients unconsciously read us by our clothes. Read: according to advertising. No matter what we consciously manifest in advertising, if in the unconscious we have fear of clients, self-doubt, a desire to make money without investing much, a thirst for self-affirmation, a ban on success, we are not in resource - and other delights - do not doubt that the client’s unconscious it counts. (Although narcissistic psychologists are always in high demand among traumatists, this is not about that now). Therefore, alas, and thank God for me, there is no quick and easy way to become a successful effective psychologist. So, we’re working. And also, be sure to communicate with your colleagues, because we refer to each other those whom we ourselves cannot hire. Good luck!
