And it becomes a breeding ground for the development of addictions. Here I wouldn’t want to go into complaining and grumbling, which is quite typical for me)) But you can observe this pattern (availability - satiety - addiction) using various examples: an excess of fast carbohydrates leads to overeating, the availability of information leads to Internet addiction... And Meanwhile, delay in satisfying a need plays a very important role in human psychology. Freud said that a moderate delay is generally the key to the formation of a healthy psyche. Without this moderate pause, the ability to imagine and fantasize, to replace real objects with their images, representations that help withstand frustration, will not develop. A child who, say, is thrust into the breast preemptively, before he is even hungry or when he has only squeaked a little (it is not yet clear what he wants: maybe not to eat; maybe he is wet, maybe uncomfortable, but his mouth has already been shut... .), - such a child is deprived of the opportunity to recognize his needs and find adequate objects to satisfy them. Too long a pause can be traumatic. First of all, for a baby - after all, he does not yet have the concept of time and the boundaries of his own body, “now” for him means “forever”, and the affects are too strong, so that they are experienced as “carrying away”. But a moderate pause (and, by the way, conscious slowing down) is a blessing. This is an opportunity for the need to form, mature, gain strength; an opportunity for a person to feel and understand his need: this discomfort of mine now is a need for what? (a widely known example is how we can confuse hunger and thirst); the opportunity to find good ways to satisfy it that are suitable right now and adequate to this specific need. So that not satiety comes, but saturation. The ability to digest, assimilate what is necessary, reject what is unnecessary and enjoy life :)
