A psychologist, like no one else, can see that the crisis is not a purely economic phenomenon. Having apparently originated in economics, it revealed problems in many areas of people’s lives and became a catalyst for such phenomena as panic attacks, depression, problems in family relationships, etc. Is the crisis really such a large-scale phenomenon that it has outgrown the political and economic situation in the country? Unfortunately, during a crisis, our typical compatriot does not look like an optimistic person, satisfied with life. A tired look, a dull look, a gray complexion, carelessness in clothes - gloomy thoughts are written on the face, it is clear that the person is fixated on “unsolvable” problems, and there is no strength and energy even to look at himself in the mirror. Only a small percentage of people in a situation of crisis and uncertainty retain the ability to act, actively look for ways out of the current situation, or even use the unfavorable situation in the country for their own benefit - reorient their business, develop new areas of activity, engage in self-development, master new ways and directions of travel, and so on. .The crisis gives a “green light” to our national character - we blame the government for all our troubles and get a “legal” opportunity to relieve ourselves of responsibility for our lives. It is convenient to be a “little man”, a “pawn” who is subject to all the misfortunes, the consequences of the actions of the government, politicians, a world conspiracy, whatever. It’s so convenient when someone is to blame for the fact that life has not gone well, and if someone is to blame, then nothing can be done about it, which means there is no need to move, look for a way out, and so on. Also in a crisis, the ability to exaggerate the scale flourishes disasters, getting hung up, looking at one point. “I only think about how bad everything is,” and this completely deprives a person of the opportunity to act and make efforts. There is talk about an approaching world war - another “good” way to cultivate anxiety in yourself and not try to change anything in your life for the better. Why is it that one person, having lost his job during a crisis, will remain without income for many months and settle at home, while another, even if there is a complete failure in his field, will he reorient himself, find a use for himself and a way to earn money? Everyone has the same conditions, but their behavior is different. In a crisis, why not set the goal of becoming more adaptable, more active, and learning to cope with depression and decline? If you cannot pull yourself together in a difficult situation, it is wise to seek help from a specialist. Not only to understand that the crisis is mostly in our heads, but to continue to live life to the fullest even in such a situation, and perhaps to master “aerobatics” - no matter what, to find the bright side in everything - opportunities for self-development , ways to increase your income, broaden your horizons, new social contacts. If you set a goal to change, crisis and depression will no longer be an obstacle in the process, but will become only a small, non-defining part of life. Author of the article: Yulia Karagodina
