There are many opinions about the reasons why people turn to a psychologist, I would like to devote this post to the reasons for which people turn to me for therapy. Having experience in psychotherapeutic practice, I have already identified for myself certain needs, painful areas with which people go to therapy. And to my great admiration, more and more often the job request sounds like: “to understand yourself in order to understand your personality, your behavior, your attitude towards yourself, towards the world, your attitude towards other people.” Why does this make me happy? Because people begin to look more often at themselves, and not at external circumstances. This is about when the cause of problems is not another person, but I myself, which means I need to understand what is happening to me in order to change LIFE. All these questions come with certain feelings, they reflect the color of life. Based on these feelings, a person may ask himself the question: “What is happening to me? How has my life turned out that I am in this state?” For example, a person feels fear of making a decision, feels anxious, feels overwhelmed, there is no emotional and sensory saturation from a positive point of view. Everyone around is perceived from some negative side, there are difficulties in work, difficulties in personal life, conflicts occur in the family, it is difficult to establish contact with a child, it seems that the whole world is against it. One main thing here is that everything that happens to you is your perception, which means the reason is in you. And in order to understand everything, a person sometimes lacks his own strength, and for this he needs to seek help from a psychologist who understands all this from the inside. He will be able to help you, but at the same time it is important to understand that a lot also depends on you. A specialist can guide you, help you reveal all situations, conflicts, anxieties, guide you to understand what is happening to you. There will be no magic pill to solve everything problems, this is truly backbreaking work on both you, as a client, and on the part of the therapist. It takes time to solve any problems. Whether you give it to yourself or not will depend on you. UNDERSTAND YOURSELF, this is the truth and it is promising. By thinking about himself, a person is already taking the first step in the right direction.!
